Found this in some old (release 1.4) doco. it explains the meanings in the *stat commands (termstat, eqstat etc)
\nA: waiting for activation, station declared into MAO but never connected
\nI: automatin isolation, the terminal is isolated due to an anomaly recognised by the CPU
\nX: manual isolation, the terminal is isolated by the operator
\nP: error of parity, the terminal is out-of-time, it induces an automatic isolation
\nU: the signalling unit is unplugged
\nC: the board of the terminal concerned is unplugged
\nT: Station unplugged, miscall for analogue stations
\nB: the terminal is out of service after the CPU switching<\/div>\n
don’t know that is really clears anything up but his is the only reference i have ever found to the actual meanings of the letters<\/div>\n

I: put out of service automatically by cyclic tests or MAO
\nX: put out of service manually by outserv command
\nT: terminal is unplugged, defective Terminal, miscall for analog stations
\nB: out of service due to a system bascul (normal on standby CPU until a bascul (switch to main role))
\nY : out of service due to INTB loss \/ isolated crystal
\nN: Means out of service reason unknownA: att_mserv, C: hs_defich, I: hs_isolauto, X: hs_isolman, T:hs_terdef
\nU: hs_usdef, P: hs_errparite, B: hs_bascul, Y: hs_cristisol, N: hs_inex<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
